CONDOLENCE - JUSTICE DR AZAD

{Full court condolence meeting in the Chief Justice's court on 16.04.2010 at 03:45 pm to mourn the sad demise of late Justice Dasu Ram Azad.
Court tenure 13.4.2009 - 10.4.2010)

My Brothers and Sisters, Members of the Bar, and the Registry,

This week was a sad week. It was a week for retrospection for many of us. I hope the weekend would be a time for retrospection for the members of the Bar too.

We have assembled here this afternoon, to mourn the sad demise of brother DR Azad a sitting Judge of our Court. Born on 25th December 1958, he obtained LLB degree from Allahabad University in 1985. After enrolment, he took initial training with one of us―Brother SU Khan and for some years, worked as Additional Government Advocate. He became Judge of our Court on 13th April 2009.

He was a social and humble person. Despite the fact, he became a Judge of this Court, he remain attached to his roots. The Judgeship never affected him.

Brother Azad was keeping indifferent health for some time. Despite best medical assistance, he expired on 10th April 2010 leaving behind his widow and two sons.

We express our condolences to the bereaved family and pray that his soul may rest in peace. His family may have strength to bear the irreparable loss.

The befitting tribute would be to end the mounting arrears in our court. But for now, we will stand in silence for two minutes to pay homage to the departed soul.

As a mark of respect, the judicial work of the Court shall remain suspended for the rest of day.
